What it is:
AOD-9604 is a synthetic peptide fragment corresponding to amino acids 176-191 of the C-terminal region of human growth hormone (hGH), with an additional tyrosine residue added at the N-terminus. Its sequence is Tyr-Leu-Arg-Ile-Val-Gln-Cys-Arg-Ser-Val-Glu-Gly-Ser-Cys-Gly-Phe, stabilized by a disulfide bond between the two cysteine residues at positions 7 and 14. It was originally developed at Monash University in Australia as part of a research program examining the lipolytic domain of human growth hormone independent of its growth-promoting properties. Unlike full-length growth hormone it does not interact with the IGF-1 pathway or produce anabolic signaling, making it a selective research tool for studying growth hormone receptor fragment pharmacology and lipid metabolism signaling biology.
