BAC Water

What it is:

Bacteriostatic Water (BAC Water) is sterile water for injection containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. The benzyl alcohol concentration inhibits bacterial growth, allowing the solution to be used multiple times from a single vial without significant risk of microbial contamination between uses in laboratory settings. It is a standard laboratory reagent used in research applications requiring aqueous solvent preparation, compound reconstitution, and solution preparation in controlled research environments. It is distinguished from standard sterile water for injection by its multi-dose capability and from normal saline by the absence of sodium chloride.
