What it is:

SLU-PP-332 is a synthetic small-molecule pan-agonist of the estrogen-related receptor (ERR) family, originally developed at Saint Louis University School of Medicine as part of a research program examining orphan nuclear receptor pharmacology. It engages all three ERR isoforms — ERRα, ERRβ, and ERRγ — with highest potency at ERRα (EC50 ≈ 98 nM). As an orphan nuclear receptor agonist it is structurally and mechanistically distinct from classical peptide compounds, operating through direct nuclear receptor ligand binding and transcriptional coactivator recruitment rather than surface receptor signaling. It is used as a research tool in mitochondrial biology, ERR-mediated transcriptional regulation research, and metabolic signaling pathway studies.
