What it is:

DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a naturally occurring neuropeptide consisting of nine amino acids (Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu) originally isolated from rabbit cerebral venous blood. It has been identified in various regions of the hypothalamus, limbic system, and pituitary gland, and has been the subject of neuroendocrinological research since its initial characterization in the 1970s. Its amphiphilic structure and blood-brain barrier permeability have made it a subject of ongoing interest in neuropeptide biology research.
