Selank

What it is:

Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide analogue of the endogenous immunomodulatory tetrapeptide tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg), developed through research at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Its sequence (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) incorporates the tuftsin core with a C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro extension that confers significantly enhanced enzymatic stability and extended biological activity duration compared to native tuftsin. It has been studied in neuropeptide pharmacology research, anxiolytic signaling biology, and neurotransmitter system modulation studies with a research literature spanning several decades primarily in Eastern European scientific institutions.
